God used John the Baptist to prepare the way for Jesus Christ. What if God wants to use us and our church in the same way? It isn’t about munching bugs in the desert. It’s about God using His people to prepare the world for the message of Christ. This series will take our church from engaged listeners to active participants. In this 6-week series, we will learn our part in introducing the world to the Saviour.
Week 1 – “How God prepares the world” (Isaiah 40: 1 – 11)
Within the history of our nation, there have always been men who inspired us with their courage in times of change or crisis. In biblical history, great men have inspired us as well. Before Jesus, came a man named John. It was John who said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” and “I have seen and testify that this is the Son of God.” It was also John who said, “After me comes one whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.” and, “He must increase, I must decrease.”
In the world we live in, we need the inspiration of men like these. They encourage us and give us hope. They help us to see how we might live our lives better, at a higher level, with greater intentionality, and purpose, and usefulness to the Lord.
We become better men and women when we’re reminded what a great life looks like and lifted up by them.
